With two bank holidays and the weather getting warmer, May is the perfect month to clean off the barbecue and crack open a bottle of Gorilla Syrah.
Our Gorilla Syrah from sunny Sicily is the perfect pairing for all barbecue foods, with its medium-full body, concentrated dark berry flavours and hint of black pepper spice. It pairs excellently with all barbecued meats, especially those with a hint of spice like sweet chilli sausages or bbq chicken wings. Try with chargrilled red peppers and aubergine for a tasty vegetarian option.
Gorilla Syrah from IGT Sicilia is bursting with flavour partly thanks to the use of the traditional ‘pumping over’ technique that is used during production. This involves pumping red wine from the bottom of the stainless steel tank and pouring it on top of the skins in order to extract more colour and flavour from the Syrah grape skins. This produces a well-structured wine with flavours of blackberry, red currant and spice.
